Merel Stolker invites you to meet her for a short experience in the here and now, in the form of a date. This created setting raises questions about the relationship between visitor and artist or what it could be. What starts as just a conversation slowly turns into an experience without words, where objects and actions will take over. Can you get close to a stranger?

Merel Stolker nodigt je uit voor een korte ontmoeting in het hier en nu, in de vorm van een date. Hoe verhouden kunstenaar en deelnemer zich (mogelijk) tot elkaar? Wat begint als een eenvoudig gesprek krijgt een bijzondere wending als objecten en handelingen het overnemen. Maak je persoonlijk contact met een onbekende?

About Merel Stolker

Merel Stolker is a Dutch performance artist currently based in Ghent, Belgium. With a background in fine art, she developed a participative practice where one-to-one contact, performance and objects play a big role. She graduated in Fine Art at AKV|St.Joost ’s-Hertogenbosch in 2015 and is currently in a master program Autonomous Design at KASK Ghent. In the last years Merel Stolker has shown performances at venues like Dutch Design Week: For Play at MU Eindhoven (2016), This Art Fair: MILK-Home Specific at Beurs van Berlage Amsterdam (2017) and Experience at Club SOLO Breda (2016).
